Resilience is one of the key characteristics that will ensure success in this time of constant change. We all have resilience - it’s built into our DNA. The trick is to understand how to tap into, conserve and build your resilience when you need to.

World Hunger Day is the 28th of May, and it’s an important event in The Hunger Project’s calendar. It brings attention to the 820 million people currently living in hunger and highlights the work that we’re doing to end hunger globally.
The sustainable end to hunger will not come from simply providing more financial or food aid. Ending hunger requires us to empower people living in hunger to develop and implement the solutions that they, and their communities, require to break the cycle.
Both the solutions and people need to be resilient so that the cycle remains broken no matter what conditions the people face in the future. Climate change in particular is a real issue for many people living in hunger and the majority of them are small plot farmers and live in areas already experience hardship from drought and flooding.
This half-day workshop is a hands-on session with practical tools and strategies. We will examine how you can develop skills around resilience using the stories of our village partners as examples, and analyse how people and communities are able to rise above their challenges to create sustainable solutions.
We’ll work to identify the most challenging times when your resilience is tested, learn how to implement the right strategies for you to keep your resilience “tank” full and how to top it up when required. This will allow you to develop your own resilience “prescription” that you can put into use as you tackle the challenges that you’ll inevitably face ahead!
Pairing these inspirational stories with useful strategies to identify your own personal resilience “prescription” will ensure that you are ready to overcome whatever life throws at you.
