How do I register for this event?
Please click on our register here button and follow along with the sign up process. If you are a new user, you will need to create a new login. If you are one of our returning users, please login as instructed!
Are there any requirements as to how I achieve the 60 kms?
No, this is up to you! You can walk 2kms each day - or you can split it up any way you like! Challenge yourself at your own pace and in within your own limitations! If you are just starting out with exercise, please consult your physician to ensure that you can complete the challenge!
What is the minimum fundraising requirement?
We are asking that each participant raise a minimum of $60. That's $1 per km walked.
If you are inspired to raise more - please do! When you register you will be asked to set yourself a fundraising target that reflects the effort you are putting into this challenge. The more funding that we can raise - the more women that we can empower to end their hunger and poverty!
As part of the registration process you will be given a link that you can send out to friends/family and colleague asking them to support you. Get creative! During the month make sure you provide people with updates as to the distance you've travelled!!
If you are entering as a team - each team member should fundraise $60 in order to participate.
Can I create a team to join me in this challenge?
Yes, definitely! Once you have completed your individual registration there will be an automatic options for you to set up a team which your friends can join!
We ask that each member of the team commit to the $60 fundraising requirement (minimum $120 per team).
Then go out and tackle that challenge together - a group is a great way to keep focused on the work to be done!
How do I track how far I have walked?
Our website allows you to integrate your Fitbit Data. Don't have a FitBit - well that's okay - just keep your supporters informed of your progress manually through updates to your blog, emails or simply sharing your progress on social media.
Don't forget to use #walkwithwomen and #thehungerprojectnz if you are so we can feature you on our posts!!
Do I have to walk? Can I do another activity instead?
Yes, you can do another activity besides walking. You can run, bike, swim, hop, skip, jump, HIIT it - whatever activity you like doing if you can find a way to challenge yourself to achieve the challenge you are welcome to do so. We just ask that you be clear with your supporters what activity you will be doing and your intended distance!
