Walk with Women 60 km complete.Happy to say I have walked 62.5 of the 60km ? and have enjoyed (almost) every minute of it, mostly around the beautiful Takapuna Beach. Took photos almost every walk to mark progress and posted on Facebook. My deep gratitude to you for your contribution to women lifting themselves and their communities sustainably out of hunger and poverty.
Help me Walk with Women - and end hunger!
The Hunger Project inspires me because they focus on what is important to end hunger sustainably. Since the majority of those hungry are women and children, and since these women provide for the health and well-being of their families without tools and resources to support them, a key focus is providing them with what they need to themselves create sustainable change in their families and communities, and end hunger and poverty.
I am walking 60 km this month in solidarity with these hardworking resourceful committed women, many of whom walk an average 6 Km per day to get clean water and who every day face challenges so daunting I can barely imagine them! The money raised will allow some of these women to transform their lives and the lives of those around them.
It is particularly congruent that International Women's Day falls on March 8th.
I invite you to also walk/ run/cycle the 60kms and find sponsorship, or to sponsor my 60Km with 50 cents or $1.00 per Km. I will let my sponsors know when I have completed the 60 km. Thankyou so much for participating. :)
