What's it really like to be hungry?

So many of us have the means to help but don't realise what it's like to really go hungry. Millions of people live on less than a cup of food a day.

Your challenge is to see if you can go a whole 24 hours on 1 cup of food. You get to choose any food you want but only 1 cup! Post your cup of food on the facebook post and challenge 3 friends!

If you can't go 24 hours - donate the value of your food to The Hunger Project New Zealand.

The Hunger Project uses proven methods for creating independence by focusing on sustainable aid through education, changing mind-sets, local empowerment and micro-loans. I'm truely amazed at how few people know about this amazing organisation. I have been searching for some way to give back that's actually sustainable because it helps people become independent not co-dependent.

Beginning with being uncomfortable...

On my birthday I officially kick of the start to fundraising $10,000! Those of you that know me with know how challenging this will be with such a difficult work schedule, so little time to spare and an aversion to asking for help this will be uncomfortable, but this is something that I believe in!

I know that I have less than others and yet so much more than many. There is never a good time to stop and look at what we can do for others but in our beautiful and crazy lives I think we all can spare a little that would make such a huge impact on someone else's life.

I urge all of you to feel a little uncomfortable by donating an amount that is enough to feel it, to feel a discomfort of having less than you had before because I think we know that compared to those living in Hunger this is nothing compared to their challenges!

Thank you all for your support!

Jana's THP Awakening

I am Fundraising for The Hunger Project New Zealand.

Myself and 15 other remarkable people have embarked on a journey to AWAKEN: leadership and potential to create a world that works. We will be travelling to Malawi Africa in 2019 to deepen our understanding of the work of The Hunger Project and to truly reflect on what we are capable of.

Your donation will go a long way to empowering women and men to enact change within their own communities to create a brighter future without hunger or poverty. I thank you for your support.
