The Spark
In the remote villages where The Hunger Project works, women hold the secret for ending hunger. They don’t wait for help; they look to each other.
They gather in a circle. Each woman brings what she has to 'put-in'—a single handful of rice, a few grains of maize, a few coins. They pool it. It becomes a collective contribution given to one woman to start her journey when it is her turn.
It is not charity. It is her first capital investment. She takes that shared handful to market, turning a small gesture into the starting funds for her future.
The Movement
The Seed Collective aims to expand these womens' groups to New Zealand. We are pooling resources to fuel a cycle of independence. Your 'put-in - no matter the size - will be used to provide the training, access to tools and infrastructure, and the leadership a woman needs to implement her own solution to hunger.
